Friday June 1, 2018 – M.V. Lukwa

Ripple the Humpback Whale and another smaller Humpback, possibly her calf!

Today’s Sightings: Humpback Whales (Ripple and 2 Unidentified), Steller Sea Lions, Pacific White-sided Dolphins, Pacific Harbour Seals, Bald Eagles, and Rhinoceros Auklets.

This afternoon there were young of multiple species to be seen! We spotted two Bald Eagle chicks in one of the local nests. Later in the trip we were surprised to see Ripple the Humpback Whale (our first sighting of her this year) travelling with a smaller whale, possibly her calf!

There are two chicks in the nest!

Pacific White-sided Dolphins surfacing slowly and in a tight group.

Our guests today were great wildlife spotters.

A juvenile Bald Eagle.

Steller Sea Lions hauled out at high tide.
