Today was a great day for all you bird watchers! We saw approximately 50 – 60 rhinoceros auklets, 1 pelagic cormorant, 8 pigeon guillemots and lots of bald eagles.

The trip started off with a report of transient (marine mammal eating) orca, and fortunately we were able to locate them, a total of 5 whales which we were unable to identify unfortunately. The whales were doing long dives and at one point they all grouped up and hung on the surface, which was great for pictures. We also spotted lots of Dall’s porpoises  and a couple groups of Pacific white-sided dolphins.

We were impressed by 2 humpback whales today, we were able to identify them as ‘KC’ and ‘Argonaut’. They were working the tide rips and one did a spy hop! We also had the great fortune of seeing a Minke whale. It was an amazing day on the water. The marine life on both our trips today was fantastic!
