Today was another great day for wildlife watching near Telegraph Cove. It was a little rainy today, but the flat calm seas made up for the wet weather. On this morning’s tour guest were treated to a viewing of a humpback whale known locally as ‘K.C.’ (a.k.a. Kelp Creature). A Minke whale was also viewed, as well as lots of harbour seals and Dall’s porpoise.

There were 100s of rhinoceros auklets in the area today, which thrilled the bird watchers aboard the tours. We also had some great photo opportunities while we watched the Bald eagles as they perched in trees and sat in their nests.

This afternoon’s trip started out great, with 2 humpback whale sightings! We were able to identify these two whales as ‘Stripe’ and ‘Nick’. The photographers on board were quite pleased as both whales provided them with excellent chances to snap some great tail fluke photos. The large blows from both whales rose high above the water, and were also quite a site to behold.

Guests were happy to view a Minke whale as it moved through the glass-like seas, and a group of Dall’s porpoise were also viewed, along with 2 harbour porpoise! A definite highlight for passengers was when we discovered a 2 year old black bear foraging on the beach.

It was another great day out on the water!
