Monday, June 25 – MV Lukwa

We were thrilled to have such a fun day in the sunshine on the Lukwa! Beautiful, calm waters, perfect for viewing the marine wildlife in the area! On our morning trip we sighted two transient orcas doing dives and slowly moving to the west! We have identified the mother and her offspring as T11 and T11A. A fantastic start to the day!

Guests and crew were also thrilled to spot a Minke whale on our morning trip! We encountered approximately 30 Dall’s porpoises riding the bow wake of the Lukwa! Definitely a blast for everyone on board! Another marine mammal sighting included harbour seals hauled out on the rocks.

Bird watchers would be thrilled to hear that we saw lots of marine birds, approx. 80 rhinoceros auklets and 6 Common murres. 10 plus bald eagles were also sighted by our guests and crew, this one was feeding!
