We had a great tour this morning to kick off Telegraph Cove’s Centennial Celebrations! Our guests and crew sighted blows of three humpback whales: “Conger,” “Twister,” and an unknown humpback! Our morning group was also thrilled to observed lots of Dall’s porpoises and ten harbour seals. A terrific start to the weekend!
We also had a fantastic afternoon trip today! Ten minutes from Telegraph Cove we sighting a humpback known as “Yogi” working right alongside the beach! Our guests were also treated to three Steller sea lions feeding in the same location as approximately twenty harbour seals!
On the afternoon trip we spotted Dall’s porpoises, and we encountered approximately twenty Pacific white-sided dolphins! The group of dolphins were active riding the bow and wake of the Lukwa. Great day for bird watching! Our bird sightings included: 10 pigeon guillemots, hundreds of rhinoceros auklets, 4 harlequin ducks, 1 pelagic cormorant, and lots of bald eagles. Definitely a great day for everyone on board!
