Saturday, June 16 – MV Lukwa

We had a wonderful day for our Marine Wildlife tour on the Lukwa today! There were many exciting sightings of marine mammals, such as: 20 Dall’s porpoises foraging, approximately 50 harbour seals hauled out on the rocks, and three Steller sea lions foraging in the water. Definitely a real treat for guests and crew!

One of the many highlights today was observing bald eagles teaching their young how to hunt! Guests and crew were also thrilled to encounter many other marine birds: 50 rhinoceros auklets, 20 White-winged scoters, and 20 bald eagles. Another excellent day for bird watching on the Lukwa!

Captain Geoff’s Quote of the Day:

“There is no duty so much underrated as the duty of being happy.”
