Today we picked up the Vanier school’s annual explorer program students from their camping site on Mound Island and brought them back to Telegraph Cove. The students were up bright and early at 4:30 a.m. to start packing their equipment for departure. A highlight for theses sleepy students was when we discovered a group of 300-400 very active Pacific white-sided dolphins!

Everyone was quite excited to watch these marine mammals as they rode along the bow and in the wake of the boat, and did acrobatic leaps through the air. What a treat on this calm and grey morning.
